About the Tour

This Tour begins at the foot of Cerro Santa Lucia, Geo - basaltic site, which glimpsed the first steps of humanity millions of years ago. This massif was later known as Cerro Huelén, ceremonial center of the Inca culture and the Mapuche culture. We will delve into the mystery of its tunnels and climb its historic stairways, built in the 19th century by Mayor B. Vicuña Mackenna, as a way of recreating French culture in these lands. We will make a couple of stops on the terraces of Dios Neptuno, to admire the architectural beauty of the eponymous fountain, and then the Caupolicán terrace, which consecrates the Mapuche people and their resistance against the Spanish conquest of the 16th century. In the same way, we will appreciate the monument to the Chilean indigenous and we will discuss its mysteries. We will continue walking through the old railroad passage to reach the gates of Castillo Hidalgo, to finish the tour at the exact place of the foundation of Santiago by Don Pedro de Val
