About the Tour
In this tour you will discover the oldest city in the Netherlands. We will walk to the Keizer Karelplein (Charlemagne Square), and passing in front of the Concertgebouw De Vereeniging, we will arrive at Molenstraat Street to continue entering the historic center of the city. Through the Koningsplein, with its cozy cafes and terraces, we reach Mariënburg. The Arsenaal building and the historic Mariënburg Chapel, which today houses the ‘Historical House’ of Nijmegen, are surprising. The unevenness offered by this area has been used to build a modern and lively shopping street in two heights. We continue our free walking tour through the pedestrian center to reach the Town Hall, with its 16th century facade. A little further, we arrive at one of the most beautiful and oldest places in the city, the Valkhof park. In it we will discover Roman ruins, a very rare Byzantine chapel in this part of Europe, and a 17th-century Renaissance watchtower that offers spectacular views of the Waal River
