Marseille Highlights Free Walking Tour

After an introduction on Marseille , we will travel back in time to the birthplace of the city, Le Jardin Des Vestiges , the original port where the Phoceans founded Massalia. Next, we will go to the old Town Hall (Hotel de Ville Municipality), where the Count of Monte Cristo was betrayed by his best friend and sent to the Chateu d'If.
We will go up to the oldest neighborhood in France and birthplace of the city, Le Panier , where Napoleon Bonaparte had an apartment and the first emigrants came to settle in this "village" within the city of narrow streets, and still with a Provençal character.
Here, we will discover La Vielle Charite , an old hospice and spectacular monument, today a museum and school of poetry. We will go down in search of the sea to discover the new port and La Catedral Mayor
