About the Tour

Avilés preserves a Historic Center that surprises those who visit it. Its millenary origins go back to the Middle Ages, when it received the charter that elevated the population to the category of town, it was walled and lived its moment of maximum splendor.

In this historical-artistic tour we will visit the center of Avilés, with its typical arcades, together with the Sabugo neighborhood, the only neighborhood outside the walls that existed in the town in the Middle Ages.

We will get to know not only medieval Avilés , but also its era of baroque and modernist splendor .

The guided tour will begin in La Ferrería street , to enter the streets that were walled centuries ago. We will see the importance that its port had for Avilés and we will be able to contemplate emblematic buildings such as the Valdecarzana Palace , the Church of the Franciscan
